Punta Mita, Mexico
We lived in Mexico for 3 1/2 years, our story with this amazing country started when we moved from Caracas to Mexico City, and we began the next chapter of our lives. Newlyweds broke and, in a foreign country, Mexico became our home.
After three years without going back, we had our first Mexican vacation. Destination: Punta Mita, Nayarit.
What is Punta Mita?
Punta Mita is a beachfront village located on the north end of Banderas Bay in the Mexican state of Nayarit, about 10 miles (16 km) north of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco
How did we get there?
We flew Southwest, from Oakland to Puerto Vallarta then, a 30 min ride to the bay.
Where did we stay?
Four Seasons Punta Mita, I know it sounds fancy and amazing. It was! Mexico has one of the best hospitality policies in the world. They take good care of their guests, and they're extremely polite people.
Where did we eat?
Mexican food is fantastic; we can all agree on that but, it's so much more than just tacos and burritos. And if you haven't tried mexican seafood you're missing out (A LOT).
We ate at the hotel a bunch of times and the churros are hands down the best thing on earth. We did explore a bit we went to a small restaurant in the village called Si Señor, and everything, from the real tortilla soup to the grilled shrimp was excellent. The blue shrimp is another great option, just walking distance from Si Señor, the views of the beach and the sunsets are as incredible as the food.
If you want to do something different than Cabo San Lucas (which we love) Check out Punta Mita, it's beautiful, relaxing and perfect for a celebration.
